Federal Employees Encouraged to Attend Mobile and Pop-Up Food Pantries

Free, fresh food can help those who may miss a paycheck due to shutdown

DANBURY, Conn. (January 22, 2019) — United Way of Western Connecticut encourages federal employees who may be struggling to buy groceries and pay their bills to attend its monthly Mobile Food Pantry, which will be held tomorrow, January 23, at Walnut Hill Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road in Bethel. The pantry operates between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, and the doors open for clients at 4:30 pm.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanks to the support of our community for Stuff the Gazebo, families in Greater New Milford are enjoying a holiday meal with their loved ones today. In partnership with the Woman’s Club of New Milford, 232 families received Thanksgiving bags this year as a result of the Stuff the Gazebo food drive. Each bag was filled with turkey, bread, bakery items, and all the non-perishable items needed for a traditional holiday meal.

On Saturday, November 3, 2018, the Woman’s Club of Greater New Milford and the United Way of Western CT Greater New Milford office will hold its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive on the New Milford Green. Once again we are asking residents to help us “Stuff the Gazebo” with donations of frozen turkeys and canned goods.
