Character Playbook

Over the past three years, United Way and the NFL have reached more than 400,00 students, in 4,399 schools, across 48 states and the District of Columbia, through the use of the digital learning experience, Character Playbook. This online program uses evidence-based strategies to educate students on how to cultivate and maintain healthy relationships during their critical middle school years.

Previously, this program was only available to United Ways within an NFL team footprint, however, in January 2019 the program was made available to ALL United Ways across the country for FREE.

HOW THE PROGRAM WORKS

  • Local middle schools and/or organizations that provide programs for middle school age students can sign up to use the Character Playbook in their classrooms to promote building healthy relationships.
  • Teachers create lesson plans and activities focused around the six lessons covered in the program.
  • Middle schoolers learn how to build the social skills they need to succeed in school and beyond.
