05.29.2019 – Hamlet Hub (Danbury): United Way to Host Annual Day of Action in Greater Danbury and New Milford on June 5 United Way of Western Connecticut will mobilize more than 180 corporate volunteers representing 17 companies on Wednesday, June 5, 2019, in a day of community engagement that will include a Street Fair that offers Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) projects for students. 01.22.2019 – Patch.com (Bethel): Bethel Food Pantry Reaches Out to Gov't Workers in Shutdown United Way of Western Connecticut encouraged federal employees who may be struggling to buy groceries and pay their bills to attend its monthly Mobile Food Pantry, which will be held Wednesday, Jan. 23, at Walnut Hill Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road in Bethel. The food pantry is less than 10 miles from the Federal Correctional Institution where approximately 250 employees are working without pay.

07.12.2018 – The Greater New Milford Spectrum: Farmers market to help SNAP participants Thanks to the New Milford Farmers Market Collaborative, $15 in SNAP benefits will be equal to $30 in fruits and vegetables. The collaborative is led by New Milford Social Services with support from the United Way of Western Connecticut, Candlewood Valley Pediatrics, the Harcourt Foundation, the Goldring Family Foundation, St. John's Episcopal Church and New Milford First Congregational Church.
