Stamford Cradle to Career Receives Grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation

$30,000 will be used to support general operation of the initiative

STAMFORD, Conn. (July 30, 2019) — Stamford Cradle to Career has announced that it is the recipient of a $30,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation. The grant will support the infrastructure and general operating costs of this city-wide initiative, whose mission is to ensure equity and excellence in education for every child in Stamford.

“We are so thankful for this grant. The support from FCCF will go a long way toward helping us to achieve our goals for the coming year,” said Bridget Fox, President, Stamford Cradle to Career. “We are increasing our focus on collecting and analyzing Stamford student data while also emphasizing equity and inclusion in all that we are doing. This grant will help fund the staffing expertise needed to achieve our goals.”

Ms. Fox also said the Foundation’s support goes beyond funding. Two staff members from the Foundation are also serving on Stamford Cradle to Career’s Community Action Networks and, as such, are active, involved participants in shaping the initiative’s work moving forward.

Stamford Cradle to Career recently released it 2018 Community Report, which summarizes the accomplishments of the past year while reporting on key data points that the initiative is using to measure progress. More than 60 community organizations and 70 community leaders are currently involved, working toward a common goal of closing the achievement gap in Stamford.

Stamford Cradle to Career is a collective impact partnership based on the nationally recognized StriveTogether Framework. Its mission is to collectively align community resources to ensure equity and excellence in education, for every child, from cradle to career. Stamford is one of over 65 communities in the country that have adapted the StriveTogether framework with the purpose of improving educational and social outcomes for all children.
