United Way Seeks Applicants for Roberta K. Eichler Scholarship

$5,000 scholarship to be awarded at upcoming Heart of Gold Award Dinner

STAMFORD, Conn. (February 10, 2017) — United Way of Western Connecticut (UWWC) announced today that the application period for the Roberta K. Eichler Heart of Gold Scholarship is now open.

The $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to support and promote the continuing education of an outstanding student volunteer from our community and is named in honor of The Volunteer Center’s long-standing former Executive Director, Roberta K. Eichler.

We invite and encourage current high school seniors to apply for this scholarship opportunity. Past recipients of the scholarship have gone on to study at Duke, UCONN, Harvard, Bucknell University, Loyola Marymount University and Norwalk Community College. Applications will be accepted online through Sunday, March 5 at 5pm, and may be submitted at http://uwwesternct-old.oneeach.org/heartofgoldscholarship

The scholarship will be awarded at UWWC’s 23rd Annual Heart of Gold Award Dinner taking place on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at the Stamford Marriott Hotel. John Ciulla, President of Webster Bank, will be honored that evening with the 2017 Heart of Gold Award.
