SAVE THE DATE: Cradle to Career Regional Conference-November 13th, 8:30 a.m.-12:00 p.m., Bridgeport

On Wednesday, November 13th, the four CT Cradle to Career communities (Bridgeport, Norwalk, Stamford and Waterbury) which are members of the StriveTogether National Network will be hosting a regional conference to highlight the important work we are doing in our cities. Jennifer Blatz, President and CEO of StriveTogether will be our keynote speaker.  We are hopeful that you can join us that morning to hear about the impact that we are having locally and across the state.  Jennifer will share the national perspective, which will show the impact the networks has had and the   potential of what we can achieve based on the success of other cities across the country.  If you read the StriveTogether 2018 Annual Report, you will see the level of support that the national movement is receiving from key philanthropies, including a recent significant investment by the Ballmer Group.

Registration information and a conference agenda will be shared ASAP.  In the meantime, please save the date for November 13th.

Sparkler App

Stamford Cradle to Career was recently selected to participate in the Sparkler App pilot a collaboration between the CT Office of Early Childhood and Sparkler Learning, Inc.. From September 2019 through March 2020, six SC2C partner organizations, including Abilis, All Our Kin, Child Guidance, Children’s Learning Centers of Fairfield County, Family Centers, and St. Joseph’s Parenting Center, will provide free access to the Sparklerapp to parents. The Sparkler app is an educational tool for parents with children ages 0-5 and helps providers partner with parents to get young children ready for learning and life. The app uses the Ages and Stages Questionnaire screening to help identify how a child is doing developmentally, provides tips and activities for parents to do with their child, and includes both chat based consulting and connections to other providers to support development. This parent engagement initiative will complement our existing work to increase the use of the Ages and Stages Questionnaire in Stamford to support the healthy development of children to be ready for Kindergarten.
